Who These Tools Are For

ZenMaid

ZenMaid is cleaning-specific software. It was designed by someone who ran a maid service, and it shows. The whole product is built around recurring residential cleans — scheduling repeat clients, managing cleaners who work multiple homes a day, sending automated reminders, and collecting reviews after each job. If that describes your business, you’ll feel at home quickly.

It’s not trying to be everything to everyone. That’s a strength and a limitation depending on what you need.

Jobber

Jobber is general field service software. It works for HVAC techs, landscapers, plumbers, and yes, cleaning companies too. It has more features than ZenMaid — quoting, invoicing, a CRM, job costing, a client hub — but it’s not cleaning-specific. You’ll get a lot of tools, some of which you won’t need, and a few things ZenMaid does natively will require workarounds in Jobber.

Scheduling and Dispatch

This is where ZenMaid pulls ahead for cleaning companies. Recurring schedules with rotating teams, frequency settings, lockbox notes, and entry instructions — it handles all of this cleanly. Reassigning a cleaner when someone calls in sick takes a few clicks. The calendar is readable without being cluttered.

Jobber’s scheduling is solid and more flexible in some ways — good if you’re managing different job types with different durations. But it wasn’t designed with “four 2-hour cleans in a day per crew member” in mind, so the workflow can feel a little more generic. For complex residential recurring schedules, ZenMaid is tighter.

Client Communication and Reminders

Jobber has a proper quoting module. You can build quotes, send them to clients, get digital approval, and convert them to jobs automatically. For commercial cleaning bids or one-time deep clean estimates, this is useful.

ZenMaid is lighter on quoting. If your business does a lot of estimate-first selling — especially for commercial accounts — that’s a gap worth noting.

Mobile App

Both have mobile apps for cleaners in the field. ZenMaid’s app gives cleaners their schedule, job details, entry notes, and the ability to check in and out. It’s simple, which is a feature — cleaners don’t need to learn complicated software.
